In July of this year, I went fully freelance as an artist. That transition has been fruitful, exciting, and is ongoing. So here is a quick update of where I am at going into the new year!
I will be returning to Dancing Earth as part of their Eco Artivist cohort! That means that, starting in January, I will be rehearsing toward a performance at CSU East Bay ahead of their residency in Mexico. While I will not be joining them in Mexico, I am honored to be able to perform in their pre-trip show.

I am thrilled to be Associate Director for Meklit’s Movement LIVE show in Maryland at Mongtomery College in February! I stepped in as director at the last minute for their Seattle show in 2022 when the director got sick with COVID the week before the show. Working on the show was an enchanting experience, and I am so thankful to be invited back to support this brilliant touring project.

This Fall, I started as a Teaching Artist with The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company in Los Angeles, where I co-teach the afterschool theatre program at San Fernando High School.
Dunya Productions, the MENA company in Seattle for which I am a founding company member and serve as Grant Writer, just closed a very successful run of The Return by Hanna Eady and Ed Mast, which was extended with a sold out run. I am thrilled to see Dunya thriving and growing as we work to renovate our space and keep presenting impactful work to the Seattle community.

And I am still a DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) consultant with Avent Diversity Consulting, which continues to work with exciting clients throughout the nation. I have especially been working on their toolkits, including developing my graphic design skills, so look out for snazzy toolkits in the new year.
There are various opportunities that I am working toward in the new year, which I will post about as they come to fruition. Overall, I am keeping myself open to new experiences, challenges, and possibilities as they arise, and learning and growing all the while. I enter 2024 ready for whatever it throws at me, with enthusiastic optimism!
